The PPR cold and hot water pipe materials used in home decoration are categorized into five models: S5, S4, S3.2, S2.5, and S2 (where "S" stands for the pipe series designation). PPR pipes are available in two types: cold-water pipes and hot-water pipes, and each type is further divided into the five series—S5, S4, S3.2, S2.5, and S2. These five series can withstand pressures of 1.25 MPa, 1.6 MPa, 2 MPa, 2.5 MPa, and 3.2 MPa, respectively.

In today’s home decoration and construction processes, PPR pipes are increasingly being widely adopted. Compared to traditional cast-iron or cement pipes, PPR pipes are more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, and they are highly corrosion-resistant, significantly extending their service life. Moreover, the inner walls of PPR hot-and-cold water pipes are less likely to accumulate scale, making cleaning and maintenance extremely convenient. As a result, PPR pipes have become somewhat more popular than conventional plumbing pipes. However, there are certain requirements for both the fabrication and installation of PPR hot-water pipes. It is made of... PP-R pipes and fittings, these fittings must meet the hygienic requirements stipulated in the national standard GB/T18742.3-2017 and be completely non-toxic. When selecting materials, their pH value should be controlled within the range of 1 to 14, ensuring resistance to both acidic and alkaline environments. Furthermore, PPR cold and hot water pipes must have a uniform and smooth inner surface, as uneven pipe walls can increase water flow resistance, leading to the accumulation of sediment on the inner pipe walls. The smoother the inner surface, the less vibration and noise the pipe will generate. Finally, PPR pipes should not be exposed externally on the building structure, because while the inner wall of the pipe maintains a uniform temperature, external exposure to sunlight can easily cause the pipe to crack.
Thanks to these advantages, PPR pipes are widely used in various types of buildings. The invention of this type of pipe has greatly facilitated applications in areas such as building drainage, urban gas supply, and industrial fluid transportation.
