We all know that PE water pipes come in a variety of specifications depending on their nominal diameter and wall thickness. However, the most commonly used ones have nominal outer diameters such as: DN20, DN25, DN50, DN63, DN75, DN90, DN150, DN200, and DN250 (10-inch pipe), among others.
What are some common-sense tips for storing and transporting PE water pipes?
Point: During storage and transportation, PE pipes must not be subjected to dropping, violent impacts, exposure to sunlight or rain, or contact with other chemicals such as oils, acids, or salts.
Point 2: From the time of manufacture until the time of use, polyethylene (PE) pipes must not be stored for longer than one year. The ideal storage location is a warehouse or shed with good ventilation and a temperature below 40°C. Pipes should be placed on a level surface, and their height should not exceed 1.5 meters. When pipes are bundled into square bundles and supported on both sides, the maximum storage height can be increased accordingly, but it must not exceed 3 meters. If pipes are temporarily stored outdoors, they must be covered with a protective shelter.
